Iowa Man Faces Prison for Arson, Insurance coverage Fraud

A Davenport, Iowa, guy faces up to 15 many years in prison when he’s sentenced in Could for attempting to burn down his residence.

The Quad-City Occasions reviews that a Scott County jury convicted 47-year-outdated Brian Earl Lebs of second-degree arson and insurance coverage fraud.

Davenport Fire Marshal Mike Hayman says firefighters had been referred to as to Lebs’ home on Nov. 17, 2012, for a fire. Hayman says an investigation showed the fire was intentionally set in the home’s basement, and that Lebs had extinguished the pilot lights on his gas stove and turned on 2 of its burners to leak organic fuel into the residence.

Had ample gasoline constructed up in the property, Hayman stated, responding firefighters could have been injured or killed in an explosion.
