State Insurance Hotline expands hours soon after storms

Men and women affected by current storms have an additional hour to get help from the state. The Missouri Division of Insurance is temporarily expanding the hrs for its Insurance Client Hotline. Starting April 7, consumers can call the hotline at 800-726-7390 from 7:thirty a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. (Standard hrs are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

“We stand prepared to assist buyers if they have insurance coverage questions or are going through troubles filing a claim with their insurance firm,” explained Director John M. Huff. “By expanding our hrs of operation, we hope to accommodate much more Missourians. I strongly motivate consumers to report claims to their insurance coverage businesses as quickly as possible and contact our division if they attain an impasse with their insurance coverage company.”

Final yr the division returned $ million to customers right after they filed a complaint towards their insurance coverage business. It is the 2nd-highest recovery on record.

This week, Gov. Jay Nixon declared a state of emergency in Missouri as a severe weather technique moved across the state, major to large winds, flooding and many reported tornadoes that triggered widespread property injury. Nixon ordered activation of the State Emergency Operations Center and activated the Missouri State Emergency Operations Prepare, which allows state companies to coordinate immediately with regional jurisdictions to supply emergency companies.
